| Goombay Adventurers in conjunction with the Maryland School of Hanggliding Inc. offers instructional classes beginning with the basics of hang gliding and aerodynamics. The Maryland School of Hanggliding Inc. is Washington and Baltimore's longest continuously operated Hang gliding school with 23 years of experience. Foot launch training is their specialty which enables students to fly any mountain or hillside without depending upon mechanical means. |

United States Hang Gliding Association certified instructors instruct the class in picking up, holding, balancing and running with the
hang glider. You will be developing skills required to become airborne (simulating a take-off).
INFORMATION & WHAT TO EXPECT
Ground School is only given on Thursday evening from 7pm-9pm
During this session students will watch several videos on hang gliding, take notes on basic aerodynamics and steering the glider, and be able to ask questions. This class is held in a hanger of an old barn so bring something to drink, a comfortable chair and use the bathroom before you come. There is no bathroom facility at the hanger.
Flight school can be scheduled on Sat. or Sun. starting at 8am-2pm
Flight school depends solely on the weather! Before arriving to the field you will be instructed to call the school for an update on the weather and location. After arriving you will complete the waiver forms and take a test of the material from the ground school. It is highly recommended that you bring your lunch and plenty of water or sport drink. You should dress according to the weather and wear shoes that have good ankle support.
